Insurance Information

Patuxent Endocrinology Associates accepts the following insurances:

1. Medicare
2. Maryland Medicaid – you will need a referral if you choose this option.
3. CareFirst Blue cross blue shield

Self Pay Information

For all other insurances we offer an affordable Self-pay option:

1. To schedule an appointment, you will have to paya non-fundable booking fee of $100 to schedule an appointment. This fee will go towards the payment of your visit. There will be no co-pays or deductibles to be paid at the time of the visit.
2. Fee schedule will be available on request by sending an email to patuxentendo@myupdox.com or by calling the office on 443-432-3020.

You MAY be able to submit a claim after your visit to your insurance company depending on your contractual agreement.

The following are a couple of options you can try to get your office visit fees re-imbursed.

1. Out-of-network insurance benefits – If you don’t currently have an out-of-network, consider switching to a plan that does have an out-of-network option, during the Open Enrollment period.
2. HealthSavings Accounts: Depending on the type of health savings accounts you have, you may be eligible for reimbursement with a flexible spending account (FSA), health savings account (HSA), and health reimbursement account (HRA). These are tax-advantage savings accounts that allow you to use pre-tax money toward your medical appointments. This way, you get the full value of your dollar (no taxes) and you reduce your income (lower taxes overall). Please talk to your accountant about this.
